About the Author

Karen Riley is the Executive Director and a founder of the S.C.R.A.P. Gallery (Student Creative Recycle Art Program), the environmental arts education program for students. Founded in 1997, the S.C.R.A.P. Gallery develops and implements art experiences from recycled materials that actively engage youth as stewards of their environment. More than 75,000 pounds of trash have been diverted from the landfill through the S.C.R.A.P. Gallery's program.
