WHAT IS THE S.C.R.A.P. GALLERY?
S.C.R.A.P. Gallery is an environmental art museum and mobile education program inspiring young people across the Coachella Valley to see possibility in what others throw away. For more than 30 years, S.C.R.A.P. Gallery has kept discarded materials out of landfills and transformed them into resources for creativity, education and discovery.
Through traveling arts education programs, we reach children in every city across the Coachella Valley, bringing hands-on learning directly into their communities. Through art, science and partnerships with local organizations, students explore important environmental and community issues while learning to become creative stewards of their environment, guided by four simple ideas: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Responsibility.

THE Gallery & Studio:
S.C.R.A.P. Gallery is the only children’s art and environmental conservation museum in Coachella Valley, and the only one of its kind in Riverside County, CA. The facility allows for creative expression and education to take place.
Children create art on-site by using donated discarded materials while at the same time learning about complex environmental issues, arts, culture, science and much more. The gallery exhibits works of art by renown artists alongside those of S.C.R.A.P. Gallery youth, and houses both permanent and temporary interactive exhibits on issues like GMOs, renewable energy, water scarcity and climate change. Field trips for K-12 students take place throughout the week. The S.C.R.A.P. Gallery serves as a resource for teachers and students alike.
S.C.R.A.P. Van Gogh:
Going beyond borders of all kinds, S.C.R.A.P. Gallery travels to deliver innovative art and environmental education programs to kids and adults throughout the Coachella Valley. By going to schools, libraries, festivals and events as well as other educational venues, S.C.R.A.P. Gallery ensures that those unable to visit the physical location still have access to these. Through a hands-on effort stressing the Four R's - Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Responsibility the S.C.R.A.P. Gallery actively engage youth as stewards of their environment.
